Kim Coates, a very familiar real estate name in the Valley, moved to Aspen from Kansas City with her family when she was 13. After graduating from Aspen High School, Kim went to the University of Colorado, then on to the University of Nice, France graduating from the University of Vermont. Having spent some time in Montana, Kim returned to Aspen. After working as a ticket agent with Aspen Airways, she returned to the family business, Coates, Reid and Waldron as reservations manager. Concurrently, she and some partners, purchased Redfeather Snowshoes, selling it five years later after growing it to international distribution. Kim also started a high-end luxury villa rental company, Vallarta Vacations/Mexican Destinations that has been very successful over the last decade. She is fluent in French and Spanish
Kim raised two children in Aspen; her son Jackson is currently at Aspen High School and is a freestyle competitor with AVSC. Her daughter, Sara, is a Sophomore at the University of Vermont. Having had two children in the Aspen school system, Kim has been very involved with the Aspen Education Foundation, chairing several of their large fundraisers, and is also on the board of the Aspen Youth Center.
With years of knowledge of the Aspen community, great local connections, and real estate in her blood, Kim decided to reactivate her license a year ago. She knew she wanted a small, team oriented brokerage company and found Houston and Gorog Company to be the perfect fit.
With just a few months of active brokerage under her belt, Kim has been very successful and is looking forward to actively working with the Aspen community and visitors. She has a wealth of local knowledge to share. |
